Pastor Eugene Jones Jr.

In March 2020, Pastor Eugene Jones, Jr. succeeded Rev. Eugene Jones, Sr., Founding Pastor and Pastor Emeritus as Pastor of Greater New Faith Missionary Baptist Church located on 9618 Chesterfield, Houston, Texas 77051.

Pastor Jones was born and reared in Houston, Texas by his parents, Eugene and Darlene Jones. He attended school in HISD where he graduated from Jesse H Jones High
School. Pastor Jones earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Colorado Technical University and an Associate of Science. degree in General Studies from the same college. He attended Houston Community College in Houston and attended seminary at Liberty University where he studied for his Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries.

Pastor Jones has adult children and several grandchildren who are doing well in life. Pastor Jones’s wife, Dorothe, stands proudly together on this journey.

Pastor Jones serves as a chaplain for Harris County Sheriff’s Department Precinct 2 and is a U.S. retired military veteran who served in Iraq. He participates in uplifting troubled veterans by supporting causes that will lift their spirits and make their lives more productive through spiritual insight as he is a disabled veteran. He also served on the church’s Board of Directors for many years and overseen many church improvement projects.

Pastor Jones believes in doing strong Christian outreach programs in order to create strong bonds with humankind. One of his most cherished hopes is to create community outreach programs that will improve communities everywhere.

Pastor Jones strongly believes that believers should strongly focus on the essential Word of God. He believes that the essential Word of God will always lead to love, which is the most basic attribute in a believer’s life.

Pastor Jones believes that the worship environment should be inclusive, filled with hope and joy from the presence of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Jones brings all his beliefs together through his message of WUK (Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowledge).
